What are jobs in OTM?

Jobs are the work orders carried out either by the project manager personally or by other internal or external staff.

What are resources in OTM?

Resources perform jobs which are not taken by the project manager personally.

Can in-house staff be used as resources?

Yes. In-house staff are usually given direct assignments without job-related compensation.

What does “direct job assignment” mean?

For resources with direct job assignment, a job is not posted by the project manager but is instead assigned directly to a resource. This generally makes sense for in-house employees or when there is a master agreement that makes individual contracts for jobs unnecessary.

Note: Direct job assignment is also available for agency resources who receive job-related compensation (in the settings for resource management).
